ABOUT
Question! If you could date a block you see in Tetris (a tetromino) which would you date? I, T, O, L, or Z?  We asked that same thing to the staff at Game Worlds - the premiere STEM summer camp in Austin, Texas  - and the results were hilarious and insightful. Apparently, everyone casts a personality onto these little blocks,  so we decided to make a game all about it!

Shapes and Dates is a one-of-a-kind falling-block puzzle dating sim. You play as a block yourself who goes on dates using the premiere dating app for tetrominos, Shapes and Dates!

INSTRUCTIONS
You'll have to create your profile block first. If you don't like it you can always change it. Then you get to "play the field" by using the Explore page to talk to blocks. Only two are available for this prototype.

The first block is a proto-dreamboat named Tchad who likes surfing and talking about surfing. You'll have to select the correct answers in his DM's before going on a date. Tchad's dates work like this: Try to complete a line of blocks across the screen before Tchad's surfing messes up the game.

The second block you can date is named Neville. He's so anally retentive that you'll have to work even harder to make just the RIGHT choices when talking to him in his DM's. And his mini-games? Oh boy. He only wants to see I blocks so he makes you do a vertical line of blocks instead! You just have to make one column and you're good but WATCH OUT 'cause if he doesn't like a particular block on the screen then it's BYE BYE.

Oh! And did we mention that just like in real life, you'll have to figure out how YOU fit in this conversation/date? That's why at random points in both mini-games your own PROFILE BLOCK will come on down to help or hurt the situation. Too real? Our bad.

THANK YOU
We hope you enjoy the game. It was made by an incredibly small team over a year and while it's filled with room for improvement all over, we're still over the moon to present it to you. We welcome all feedback.
